In time the prices will be back up. I believe the websites need to be updated with pricing engines to cater for different charges in each state.

I have noticed plenty of advertising with no prices since the change, but also plenty of advertising with the driveaway pricing included for new cars. There's always a "from" which is nothing sinister - everyone knows the options will cost more.

I predict it won't be too long before all the pricing is available again for each model, eg Trendline from $28000 DA, Comfortline from $34,000 DA, etc.

The dealer delivery fee will be buried from now on. Just like the import duty amount, the freght amount, the VW australia profit amount, etc. That's the whole point.

When you buy a TV you don't get told separately what the JB store is making gross, so why should you know what the dealer makes.
Yeah, but the dealer still gets more than just the dealer delivery fee.

I think you're right though, we'll end with a "from" style pricing structure.

Which is pretty much what we've always had!

It all seems a bit silly, but I do acknowledge it will be looked back on as a bit of a storm in a teacup.

I noticed in the The West Aus motoring section today that all the new cars have driveaway prices on them, so it's already working! It's much easier to understand what you're actually going to be paying now, at a glance.

Although I did see on the back of The Weekend Aus magazine the Tiguan was advertised without dealer delivery etc included in the price! I wonder if they may get a slap on the wrist (or is it a toothless tiger?)
