New Polo from India?

Interested to hear if you have any info related to the possible sourcing of the Polo V (due here in second quarter 2010) from the new VW factory in Pune, India. Have heard this is a strong possibility, as VW Aust is attempting to source at the lowest price to compete with Jap imports (Yaris, etc). Given most of the Golfs we drive come out of South Africa, VW Aust has no reservations about sourcing its cars from wherever it thinks it will get them cheapest (except for the debacle surrounding sourcing the Polo sedan out of China a few years ago) but geez, an important car like the Polo V coming from Tata-land? This could be a very big mistake . . .

I beleive that all right hand drive markets will once again get their POLOS from Uitenhage,South Africa.

South Africa for Global RHD markets (Japan, NZ, UK & Aust.).

India for Indian markets.

Not anymore. The Mk VI comes out of Germany.
