    New Member - Mk1 GTI '76 - Canberra

    Hello Ladies and Germs,

I have just acquired a 1976 3dr GTI Golf. It has a 1993 Audi 2.0l engine in it and the corresponding gearbox - all wonderfully built by Sir Peter Shelly of the Canberra VW Centre.

Currently there is a Webber supplying me the juice but i have the EFI manifold and all the goodies to fuel inject the car - minus a computer...

it currently sports 14' wheels, and i'm looking for some classy retro deep dish 15's, and a smaller steering wheel. I currently have the original Wolfsburg steering wheel - if anyone is interested...

    anyway - Hello!!!

hope to catch you guys on the road some time.

Mostly aircooled, but most of these owners have VW water pumpers as well.

It has all the news for local events and club days

    thanks dude!

love the red strips around the front grill on your car. know where i can get some?? or swap?? hehehe...

i'm looking for some wheels. does anyone know what offset i need, and gap to get over the front disks? if I'm correct, the standard stud pattern is 4 / 100. is it possible to fit 16 x 6.5 inch wheels on the '76 Golf??

    thanks floggers

All Golf 1 & 2 GTIs had red around the grille. Mars red until about '88 then Tornado Red.
