New cars stalled in storage yards

    http://www.theage.com.au/national/ne...1222-73ni.html

I'm interested in a Tiguan 103 TDI. How can I help dealers' storage charges? Happy to help at no delivery fee and a tad no arrogance. R. E. S. P. E. C. T. please...

I'm prepared to mind an R36 for them if they like. I want to do my bit during these times of economic hardship.

I did my bit to help the cause.

My Jetta came from a Melbourne holding yard.

It's crazy how they are piling up around the wharves here in Sydney as well. Every spare bit of space around Glebe Island is chockers now.

It might just be me but I think you could have a lot of fun in a big wheeler.

Well I don't think VW has any stock... A friend of mine has been chasing a DSG TDI Polo for over a month... so far 2 dealers have not been able to get one.

.... Or I have a sneaking suspicion dealers just don't want to sell a car.

Depends on availability of what is ordered; color/trim/transmission combination. I was very lucky to get my Golf within a week as it was sitting in the holding yard at the time. Had I ordered a different color, I was going to have to wait . . . a long time.

I can assure you, dealers love the cash-flow and wouldn't do anything that would slow that flow.

. . . oh and one other thing. A good dealer would suggest another colour or trim to a prospective buyer if it were available for immediate delivery.

I think there may be a reason for this, just had a quick look at the Polo specs on VWA website, DSG is not available at all in the Polo range, the only auto is a 6 speed Tiptronic that appears to only be available for the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engine Polo. TDI available only in 5 sped manual.

    Cheers
