    Thought this might happen.
    Oh well at least the MkIV and to a lesser extent the MkV will retain their cult status and become myth and legend in the archives of VW history.
    By the way that artists rendition of the new GTI looks hideous. The normal MkVI looks much nicer than that.

    Well that sucks. One of the most awesome things about the R32 was the sound. The 4-banger will never be able to replicate that.

    it was only a matter of time before this happened, particularly with the new EU targets of 130gm co2 per liter of fuel burnt for passenger vehicles
    At least no one can complain about the lack of tunability of the top range Golf models anymore.
