Looks like a civic, or any other Jap mid-size sedan. Not very impressive.

Ew. If it is in fact the Mk6 Jetta, I'll stick to my Mk5.
Could it be a new Polo sedan? The front end looks a lot like the Polo.

I am interested to see how the new Jetta stacks up against the new Honda Euro.
In late 2006,I chose the Jetta over the Euro.
I now chose the Euro over the 2010 Jetta 5.
Am sure they will once again be direct competitors,or will the Jetta compete more directly with the cars one step down the ladder, like the Corolla Ultimas and Civic Sports ???
This is going to be interesting to see.
To be fair, the Jetta was never designed to be a standout-ish car as it is. It's designed for a niche market of small families with 1 or 2 children who live in an urban environment where a small sedan is ideal.
You want a standout-ish car? You have a few options. Ditch the kids and get a GTI or Golf R or to a larger extent the R36. Want to go further? Get the R50.
But the Jetta is a hugely important car for VW,as it is their 3rd most popular model in the entire group worldwide, and their top seller in a few huge, and very important markets,eg China and America.
Last year almost 700000 units were sold,so VW has to get it right...and there is so much competition in the compact/medium sedan market.
Guess this ancient rendering wasn't too far off:
