Well done, Synchro. Very comprehensive and easy to follow.
Now, I was blonde before my hair went grey, have worked for an IT company of sorts (high school with 350 user network) and I am getting dumber by the day. Does this rule me out?? Seriously, though, I'm pleased to see that you've put in the warnings because the potential for an under-dash fire is very high if you don't know what you're doing.
And, which wattage bulbs would you recommend?
I wish you'd learn to spell syncro properly? Bloody blonde IT..........
I used 55/100 watt on all of my Golfs and the T25. This conversion is fairly safe as it only involves a few short extra cables.
I like the idea that it is inside the car syncro.
I make and sell looms for doing the same job up in the UK. I sell mine through Trimsport.co.uk and on the Corrado-forum.net.
I make mine so that they pick the power up from the battery and go to the headlights from there. I use the original headlight wiring to provide the switching for the 2 relays.

This is a Corrado one.

This is the way I make mine. Again, a Corrado loom, for a Golf I fit std H4 connectors to the ends. I cover them in heatshrink to protect the wires.
