A Vauxhall that actually handles would be a nice change
Those who say that Vauxhalls don't handle, have they driven one or have taken Clarkson's view as gospel?
This one should handle very well with the e-LSD and similar suspension setup to the rs250 and focus rs to reduce torque steer & understeer.

I owned a Vectra JSII v6, with euro spec suspension and expensive Michelin tyres,in the dry it understeered, in wet weather it had terminal understeer, almost as much as a HQ Holden. The AH Astra, company car I had, understeered less, but the primary handling characteristic was tyre scrubbing understeer, it only was an underpowered 1.8l auto. As for the VRX ones yes I am relying on Top Gear and Fifth Gear comments.

That's like saying the GTI or R won't handle because the 2000 Passat and 2.0l Golf Mk5 doesn't handle very well.
This new VXR should perform (and handle) well.

The question was do Vauxhalls handle ?. based on the models I owned/drove no, because I don't like understeer as the primary handling trait, can the VXR models have different handling characteristics yes, it just needs suspension settings/set-up to be significantly different to what Vauxhall does, its a bit like comparing HSV models with run of the mill Commodores or AMG Mercs to every day ones.

The topic is about the next Astra GTC and in particular about the OPC/VXR models that no one has driven yet. Shouldn't we wait to see how it drives before making any judgments?
I am (and I think mfl is) saying that I expect that this new Astra VXR WILL handle well with the Hiper Strut front end unlike the current and previous Astra ranges.
