SSC (sounds like some sort of 'Supersonic Car', doesn't it?) ... the latest from the Shelby Supercars stable ... 270 mph (437 kph).

You should have noted, Whubbsie ... I stayed right out of that whole "Polo GTI faster than a speeding bullet" thing ... and as for the CA18DET ... that's some sort of Toyota, init?

It may be faster than the Veyron, but atleast the Veyron can corner...The SSC looks like it would corner on its roof!!!
I still love the Maclaren F1 over both of them. Until I see the Veyron or SSC win Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championship, then I'll remain biased.

Ferrari F50 and F40 for the wins! I think I'm the only person out there who actually thinks the F50 looks awesome.
Altough the McLaren F1 and it's gold plated engine bay, modem diagnostics and $40k odd service costs is pretty awesome.
Although bugger all of these cars, I'll have a 1962 Ferrari 250GTO any day please.
Cheers,

This SSC is a one trick pony, nice top speed and thats about the end of it. At least a Veyron is devastatingly fast and anyone can drive it, the F1 is a beautiful car and a track monster, the same can be said about the F40.

I find all these claims and comparisons with the Veyron stupid.
The Veyron was built to be able to be driven every single day, in comfort and still be the fastest car in the world. The Veyron weighs 2000kg and has 980+bhp and manages to go faster than a 1200bhp SSC, people dont seem to know that it has been limited to 407kph, in early testing it hit 443 and started coming off the ground. 407kph all day (or 12min, petrol) with full leather, air con, DSG and whatever els they secretly give you. Its not to hard to make the top speed huge with a long final drive. The konigssiiggseg has a huge 6th gear.
IMO all other cars dont even come close, if you look at all the cars that can go that fast they have a bunch more power and are close to being race cars as well as their top speed being a claim.....that and its not a VAG.

The F1 isn't really a track monster. In fact, as far as supercars go, most modern ones will own it. So will an F40.
The Veyron is just as one-trick as the SSC and don't let anyone allow you to believe otherwise. They're both straight line warriors that can't really do anything else.
