Electric cars are interesting beasts. Electric motors can push out insane amounts of torque at the drop of a hat, the real problem is battery life and charge time.

A push in the right direction would be a car maker partnering with a parking garage company (or a number of individuals) to offer parking + charging facilities. Now I can drive my electric car further to work, because I have facility to charge it when I get there so I can get home rather than needing to carry enough power for the round trip. Mind you in Australia, even the Suburbs to the city is usually only about 50Km or so so 125 mile capacity would be more than enough anyway. Of course you could choose to ONLY charge your car at work

Problem is you need to have a big enough market for the cars to warrant the garage, then all the users need to be close enough together to use this one facility, either that or a HUGE market for the cars to warrant lots of parking garages (or at least lots with a few specialised stations).
