Hey just thought I'd chuck this one up, never rely on the media for fact however I hope this is true, talk apparently of a twin charge Diesel (DSI) Apologies if this is already in discussion.
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-10007960-48.htmlAs expected, VW has lowered fuel consumption (by up to 28 percent) using a lineup of new turbocharged and/or supercharged diesel (DSI) and gasoline (TSI) engines. According to VW, in its thriftiest DSI/DSG trim, the new Golf will get up to 52 mpg. That puts the 2009 Golf into hybrid territory, but isn't surprising based on what we've seen in the Jetta TDI.

"using a lineup of new turbocharged and/or supercharged diesel (DSI) and gasoline (TSI) engines."
I'm inclined to think this is bad sentence construction.
What it's trying to say is -
"using a lineup of new turbocharged gasoline (TSI) and diesel (DSI) engines."
and
"using a lineup of new turbocharged and supercharged gasoline (TSI) engines."
Haven't read anything about a twincharged diesel anywhere, but it would be nice to see![]()

But as always the Turbo diesel has been called the TDI, And DSI acronym doesn't seem to have anything to do with 'Turbo'. Only way I can see it how you are is if they have changed the acronym due to changing the injection process.
With diesel being big in the world of Volkswagen and having their little TSI project become very successful, it wouldn't surprise me and really I think they'd be silly not to.
