did you miss this bit maybe??

I think there's heaps of possibilities. like havingthe first electric/ hybrid-electric car, it'll take a while for manufacturors and customers to become used to the concept, but once a few problems are sorted & it becomes a production ready engine, it could single handedly change the face of the auto/transport industry!

    Yes please..

If they actually had the design finished and ready for production you would think one of the big auto manufacturers would have picked it up long ago.. Right?

The conspiracy theory side of me says the oil companys being in bed with the auto companys wouldn't allow such an efficiency & power to reach the mainstream market because it would kill the market for everyone else who didn't have access to the technology.

It might make a good air pump/compressor.

I read a few engineering opinions about using this design as an internal combustion engine. One of the big problems was making pistons the right shape (they are like a segment of a donut), and getting a seal for the pressures involved with combustion was a big issue too (anyone here old enough to remember the seal problems the early wankel rotary engines had ? ) It remains to be seen whether it will be able to pass the very strict emissions test we have these days (IIRC that is what really put the kibosh on Sarich's orbital engine some years ago)

If it was really that good one of the large or small car or truck manufacturers would have picked it up already. Companies will do almost anything these days to get an advantage over their competitors.
