    Every car and his dog is getting 5 stars these days, so it's no surprise that the car maker that relies on its safety image so heavily starts to have a cry when it has this edge blunted.

    Having said that, I'm all for the star ratings to be significantly enhanced. For example, a current 3 star car should be knocked down to 1. This gives a couple more stars up the top for the car makers to aim for. This will obviously go hand-in-hand with tougher crash tests.

    I thought this was about to happen for EuroNCAP.

    Dunno about Aussie side of things.
