Is it just me or does that figure seem some what high when Volkswagen are saying the new 125kw TDI golf will achieve 51 MPG 4.5 Litres/100k's.

    Might be possible.
The Audi A3 is now at 4.5L/100 but this is with a 1.8 tdi, 77kw motor and roll resistance tyres
and the new 7 speed DSG which will not be fitted to the MY09 TDI jetta for some time.

Previous discussion on chipping motors showed an improvement in fuel consumption.

    Jansjetta never to be forgotten.
Looks like she was right 2010.

    Just found this thread http://vwwatercooled.org.au/newforum...ad.php?t=20605

Sorry stoney I misread your posting I thought your were saying that the 125kw was not possible of getting that fuel consumption.
