Pair of MK1's 4 door and 2 door

4 door looks ok drives, 2 door has been rear ended suitable for parts, in Geelong Vic, the rims on the white 1 look old school.

I test drove the four-door. It drives well. It'd need CV boots for RWC but not much rust that I remember.
The wheels are a generic mesh sort of wheel, i was keen as hell on those! Good tires on them too.
The chrome bumpers are perfectly straight on the four-door too!

The two door is pretty rubbish. Apparently it was used on a farm, i think he explained to me that a hay-bailer crushed the hatch.
    Not much rust though.

Not that I can remember. In fact I think it was basically rust free! The rear left door has been opened too far by force and is a bit mangled, closes okay though, so i think the door jamb was fine.
The guy selling is an air-cooled mechanic. Nice bloke too!

thanks ih8 appreciate it, might keep an eye on the ebay auction, I guess a door wouldn't be too hard to source.

Shouldn't be. If you want my help to get it, I'll ask you for an awesome gift out of that car that would mean heaps to me: OEM 'Golf' floor mats!

Oh, the heater-core has been 'replaced' (a second core almost the width of the passengers footwell just under the glovebox!) I was astonished by this when I got in it! lol

Do you reckon the 2 door is too far gone? Could be drivable using the 4 door for parts?
Driving the coal. Low and rattly.

I'm trying to remember, I know it was missing a radiator, maybe carby. I think the rear beaver panel was crushed a bit, underneath the tailgate which is obviously destroyed, other than that I remember it being pretty straight. Interior needs work, as you'd expect.
I'm going to speak to my superiors tonight, and if they OK it I'll grab them.
Not interested in the two door though, so that would be up for immediate grabs, if not off to the scrap yard.

Besides the tail gate and the bumpers i would say it's repairable for most people. I think it's got a spare pair or set of seats inside it. It's all covered in moss too, which is perfect for serious rat-look!

The two-door is too good for the crusher in my very unexperienced opinion.
