Based on the interior and the lack of simple things(buttons, armrest?!?!) which even came standard on most mk5's in Aus, I'd suggest it be the lower specced 1.9. Just my thoughts

Do you mean bodywise?? as the mk5 GTI came in a 3 door(I beleive) to Australia, so they're available, not very common though.
