Sounds like a demo
Hey all, I have found a great GTD with only 3,800 kms on it. It seems strange that someone would have traded it or sold it to a dealer when it is so new...
I like the car, but wonder if it is a hail repaired car?????
Perhaps our little community may know something about it?
The VIN in the window is: WVWZZZ1KZAW323589 (i think from the windscreen)
It came from a dealer called Wippels when first sold...
The first rego plate (which is no longer on it) was 679RGY. QLD.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

It could possibly be an ex VW Corporate car (eg: the ones they use at the VW advanced driver training).
If it is an ex corporate car - dont listen to the whole "only the manager drives it home" talk, i have 2 brothers that work at Audi dealerships and i can tell you that those corporate cars get an ABSOLUTE flogging. One of them had an Audi R8 V10 late last year with 2,200km on it and all 4 tyres were absolutely stuffed and it already had several creaks and groans. Didnt stop us taking it for a nice long drive though. Wow, what a car......and what a noise that V10 made......i wouldn't buy that one though.
And an S3 that had its gearbox changed at just over 4,000km after it was broken during a Audi drive day / training day down at Wakefield park.
Not to mention most recently, the TT-RS that was used by Motor & TopGear magazines etc for all their testing - with only 10,000kms on it, engine running in limp mode, new tyres, creaks and groans all over.......
Or - possibly the person who bought it lost their job or got divorced or etc etc and couldn't afford the repayments on it.

Thats what I kinda thought too...(about it being an ex Press car of some sort)
I wouldnt touch it if that is the case...
BUT it seems wierd that it is now for sale in south western sydney, but was first registered in QLD....
Why move it interstate?
I have in the past recognised Rego plates from cars in Wheels / topgear / motor mags that have ended up as "low km Demo models"....
This one has no rego plates on it as yet though....

What colour is it? Wippells is my local VW dealer here in Toowoomba. They have never had a demo GTD. The only one I've seen in the yard was red back in June/July. But that doesn't mean they haven't had a special order for a customer that I didn't see.
I wouldn't be to worried about it. People circumstances change and they have to sell the car.
Give Wippells(07 46319999) a call and ask them about it.

Hey thanks Brendan_A,
So it is a car from Toowoomba then.....
It is Black, stock in all ways but with the 18" wheels and tint...
I have noticed details in the book from what might be the first owner, but I didnt want to call him just yet before putting it to the forum....
I may have to do so though...only to ask if it was a repair job or the like...
I guess now that he doesnt own it, he wont mind telling me the details.

Sounds like a nice car. You would want to check that it wasn't a flood affected car from the January 10th flash flooding we had here in Toowoomba.. I would give the first owner a call and find out all you can about it.

So true. I never touch ex demo cars or dealer service cars as they are lent to people who couldn't care less about them. When I owned a Merc, I was given drive cars (pretty crappy A Classes and C180s) when I had it in service and I would never buy one as I know the hard life they have lived... Not that they were really worth trashing anyway but you get the drift. If it is an ex corporate car - dont listen to the whole "only the manager drives it home" talk, i have 2 brothers that work at Audi dealerships and i can tell you that those corporate cars get an ABSOLUTE flogging.
Same goes for Porsche - a lot of those ex company driven cars are actually from the driver training in Mt Cotton. I know cos a friend nearly bought one until we saw it in a promo video Porsche Australia ran for the course
