Just spoke with him, he is sending me through some more pics.

The car actually broke down on him yesterday, he thinks it's the fuel pump gone.

Has a bit of a list for roadworthy, nothing to major though just normal wear and tear items. Has rust around the gutters and around the front windscreen, so the pillers could be stuffed.

It's one of my mate's cars. He tried to sell it to me for $3K a couple of months back. I checked out the rust under the windscreen and agree that it could extend up into the pillars - it's not in the centre of the windscreen, but off to the side. I guess you'll know when you pull the windscreen out! I've also seen the roadworthy and nothing too bad on there - a list of small things like cracked CV boots, nothing huge except the unknown extent of the rust... cosmetic surface spots on the roof too but a straight car, would look awesome re-sprayed. Bonus is it seems to have all its little bits (ie. luggage rack at the back, that rack under the dash, vents etc)... VG

Does a car sold in Vic have to have a passed roadworthy cert? even if it's going interstate and means nothing?

NOPE You can get a permit from Vic roadrs to drive to NSW or anywhere else for $50. I got a week long one and drove a car back with no plates No inspection needed.

I don't know that I'd be $50. I payed $50 for an Unreg'd Vehicle Permit for 14 days. I doubt a one or two day UVP would be that much. Unless it's you're driving it interstate?!?

He is driving it interstate, that was the point of the question.

I was questioning the cost. I was saying my UVP was 50 bucks for 2 weeks. he wouldn't need one for two weeks, hence I was wondering why you seemed to think it would be that much.

yes, obviously he'd be driving it interstate, I'm not an idiot...
