isnt a higher ET better than a lower ET? at least if you drop the cash on them, they are guaranteed to fit, obviously with spacers... but try shaving the mounting face because they stick out instead.....

a lower et will typically make the wheel/tyre sit wider and offer more inner clearance for suspension and brakes, but has the risk of rubbing on your wheel arch

Gareth, what dom is saying is that you're better off having a higher offset because you can make the wheels fit the way you want with the help of spacers. If they were too low of an ET then it's harder to make them fit

i'm looking for wheels atm, but trying to avoid spacers as they are illegal, and compromise insurance.

my current is ET35 on a 7.5" rim. and if i go to an ET30 or less, I can go to a 8.5 or 9" rim and it makes the rims and stance look a lot wider without compromising fit, and without using spacers.

i know a lot of people use spacers, but i'm waiting for a hardluck story when someone has a crash, writes off someone else's property and then has their insurance claim rejected on a technicality, due to illegal spacers....
