Aftermarket Head Unit GPS DVD Bluetooth etc...

    Hi All,

For anyone interested, I have one of these units available for purchase on eBay. I bought 2, one for my Golf and one for my sons. He has since decided he is going to save up and try and get an RNS510. I am very pleased with mine and apart from a few little niggles which to me are no big deal, I think it's a very good unit with all the features and much cheaper than an original OEM equivalent. The photos in the ad are of the actual unit installed and working in my car. Here's the link to my eBay ad.

    Cheers

Any idea what the brand is? It's not the Waywell WD6050 / AVC9000-1 is it?

Not the one I'm advertising, but they do have them to suit the MK IV.

It doesn't actually have a brand name on it but it's not a Waywell or an AVC9000. There are a lot of these aftermarket units available now and several of them are using the same Samsung processors that this unit has. I'm not sure if there's much difference between them other than slight cosmetic style changes and some being more expensive than others. This one suits me fine and the eBay seller I bought it from has been very good to deal with and has answered all my emails very quickly, even after I purchased the unit. I am very pleased with it so far and think it's very good for the money with the features it has. It's basically a plug and play unit, the difference is I've listed my findings on the operations of the unit so far from my experience so at least anyone who's interested knows a bit more about it than I did when I first received it
