Loljks, just a Vento. But it looks pretty clean, the extra colourcoding could be hiding something though...

"This Vento is probably the one of the last Jetta/Vento MK3’s left in Australia"

I saw 2 in one day the last time I was in Melbourne...

VW sold 397 new Ventos in Australia, but a few immigrated here from South Africa as well...still see a few in Melbourne occasionally.

Nah I see heaps of them. I see one nearly every day commuting down the M1.

397 sounds like a very conservative figure.

There's 2 or 3 in my area alone.

Is there a way of finding out such official info?

To his credit, that one does look pretty tidy, also in the Newbie section.

Yes I think 397 is right, there was only 200 Mk4 R32s and I see them as often as Ventos, so it's plausible, and as much as I enjoy mine, we all know they're not the prettiest of even mid 90s hatch based sedans (which in itself isn't a leading sector), and were basically a flop in Aus.

Yeah there is a site that lists all of these figures, number of Ventos/VR6s etc, and with info on motorshows (e.g. one Vento was brought in in 1993, but is thought to have left again with the motor show circuit). I've linked to it before in the Mk3 count or Vento head count thread in the Mk3 section, but it was Transporter who gave me the link.
