I'd love to know if I can buy a speed camera franchise, "saving lives" sure seems like a profitable business.

Get your tender ready for when it gets farmed out to public sector.
Then if you happen to miss any VW / Audi speeding in your camera oh well !!

Take it from a speed camera operator and retired traffic copper, there has never been legislation in qld stating that a speed detection device (mobile poker machine) can not be located on a hill, decline, sloping road.

I can't really see why there would be - it's not like the speed limit doesn't apply on a hill/curve.

Cool, I miss here only a software that recognizes their license plates and using your Iphone or Android phone camera attached to the windscreen, you get warning that speed camera is in use infront of you. Then the message is sent to your friends that are in lets say 15 km radius and if a lot of people have it, then a map can be quickly created and updated in real time on your phone screen.

Now, somebody needs to make that application for Android market and others.

I know for a fact that when speed cameras were introduced in QLD, the back of the infringement notice had a list of conditions that applied to the speed cameras location.

Including that they could not be placed on hills. I know the speed limit still applies Maca, but those were written in black and white for everyone to see. All of that information is no longr provided and I have no doubt that the cops in those cars do not follow whatever rules do apply and that they have absolutely no interest in road safety.

Frankly, I regard the use of speed cameras about as highly as the movement I produce every morning after my coffee.

Clearly you are confused, your facts are inaccurate. There has never been any ruling, legislative or otherwise, which specifically forbade a speed camera location on a hill.
