A bunch of those type of plates were bought up when they announced the Mk6 R would be a 2.0TSI.
People were calling it a GTI-R/R20 etc so people tried to cash in on it with "custom number plates"

Spotted - absolutely no Golf R's in the 2 months we have been here now.

Loving the uniqueness after the Sydney Golf R overkill.

A few GTI's around (and every one of the owners has waved, unlike Sydney where they look at you stupidly)

Blue Mk6 R parked outside the Drycleaners on Riverview Tce at Indooroopilly
White Mk6 GTI parked next to me at UQ today :p

Probably not members here since they were somewhat dirty :p

Also, when I picked up my Talladegas from the northside, I saw 4 Rs (3x Blue and 1x White) on the same day :p

It is stock but has Tarmacs centre caps on it and rear caliper R badges. Otherwise, it blends in as intended

Spotted a white mk7 2.0L TDI in East Brisbane. Was lowered with a nice set of black multi spoke wheels and a set of brakes the size of serving platters with equally impressive big blue calipers. Pretty sure it was a young lady driving it.
