Gold Nissan Patrol - Speed Camera?

I've seen it a twice now on the Pacific Highway and am beginning to think it's a speed camera. It doesn't have any type of livery on it whatsoever but it's normally parked in a semi-hidden fashion either behind a guard rail or wall.

I haven't seen a flash come from it yet so that's a good thing (not that I speed anyways).

Yeah I've seen it too. It has the window shade cover thing on the side rear window yeah? I'm not sure if it's a camera vehicle or not. As far as I was aware they weren't allowed to have unmarked unsigned camera vehicles here in Qld?
    Cheers,

That's what I thought as well, and I can't confirm that it's a camera car either.

Just scary that I've seen it twice now in similar locations, maybe their tactics are changing?

    Seems a bit suss.

I saw a similar thing around Easter. I was out on a job for work, cruising along then I saw an EF XR8 parked at the side of the road on an angle partially hidden behind some scrubs. I could have sworn I saw all the dash mounted gear setup.

Don't know whether I was seeing things or whether their new highway patrol car broke and they went back to something later for the day...lol

I'm not sure that NSW are that sneaky yet...if they were using old cars to try and catch people out.

Thanks Bwen you're a champ! That sucks majorly though, guess they're starting to use anything for speed cameras too.
But IMO, what gave it away way was the fact they tried to hide it. If they parked it in the emergency stopping bay, no one would've suspected a thing..

    That's infra-red so you won't see a flash.

Considering in QLD they're supposed to have a sign or police stickers displayed for speed detection duties,
maybe they have this one set up to detect unregistered cars and people driving while suspended.
There's a push on that in Victoria at the moment-just a suggestion.

This guy or one very similar is always around the sothside area.. He's out and about quite often, I have nearly been caught out as I too, thought the police had to have signs up. Be careful guys..

They normally have the signs right next to the vehicle so by the time you actually see the sign, it's too late anyway
