    Meant to pop these up.

I attempted to load the white golf onto the trailer using the red golf to hold it down. (This was before I went to pick up the rental)

I think I just made a golf see-saw. I should have seen this coming.

The back wheels were right off the ground before i realised what was happening.

No harm done, just have to remember to put a jack under the back of the trailer before I do this.

(Please note: I didn't tow the trailer with the red golf! I only pushed it back a few metres after loading.)

Reckon some of the flag marshals landed up in Tassie. You should have seen them trying to hang on to the flags.

The winds were insane. I was dodging trees across the road all the way there this morning. There were sizeable bits of timber being blown about at the track.

Just as I was about to go out for the second run the rain came down so hard it was like being in a car wash. I could hear it drumming on the roof even with the helmet on. The stewards paused the racing then. I couldn't see more than two meters in front of the car with the wipers on full and I was stationary!

I should explain too that the times I posted were from my in car system.

The official times are up on the PIARC site now http://www.piarc.com.au/

My system seems to be within 0.00.02 of the Dorians (2/100 sec).

BTW before any one asks, the thing hanging out the passenger door is a Dorian timing transponder.

And here's me thinking it was the passenger seat belt..

Good pics, Pete. Glad to hear it was a trouble free run and if you didn't run off the track, that's gotta be a bonus, right?

The pics are down to Jodie and our amazing Panasonic camera. These were all taken hand held in gale force wind from the roof of the pit building.

Not running off the track was a challenge at times, especially when there's a car spinning out of control in front of you.

It's probably the last time I'll be faster than a 400 HP RX7. He was on full slicks and just couldn't get any traction. It's about the only benefit of my setup in that I have more traction then horsepower.

I think my conservative camber settings might have helped too. Because every one was going so slow around the bends the high camber angles weren't helping and only reducing the contact patch. I was chasing down a lot of cars mid corner only to have them pull away as soon as they could get the power down.
