And before you know it, there were no parts left to install.

Hahaha nice. You could always go a 6 puck "street use" rigid centre..

Yep. out of the 2.0 dizzy I wrecked for the gear. Worked a treat, you can actually hear the oil circulating when you spin it up.

Cool.. I like the idea of being able to prime the oil system without winding the engine over.. I might look into that.

    OK, so does it run?

It took a bit as usually to bleed the K-Jet but once that was done she fired up straight away and sat there idling at about 1200rpm. Good exhaust pressure, sounds strong. Last time this crank spun under it's own power was probably a few years ago in Japan, so hearing it fire up was somewhat reassuring.

Good throttle response, in fact excellent, perhaps aided by the light MK 2 flywheel.

I ran it for 5 minutes, shut it down and topped up fluids then ran it some more.

Lots of smoke off the exhaust wrap

I was getting sick of feeding the mozzies, I was going to give it a bit of a boot up and down the dirive but realised just before I hopped in the car that the drive shafts hadn't been done up yet

It'll be on the road before next weekend.

There's still a few little issues to sort out.

    Re-mount lower stress bar.
    Attach driveshafts.

Figure out where the hell I put oil temp sender when I removed it (or buy a new one) and then install it.

Sort out a new oil cooler, the one I had in there wouldn't fit with the new alternator setup. I've built it up without it for the moment, but I also deleted the stock 2.0 one as well so I'll have to go shopping for a more compact unit.

Upper strut bar doesn't clear the inlet manifold anymore. Need to figure out something here too.

    Great work Pete.

Look forward to hearing how it goes.

I don't understand why more of you don't build the entire engine on the ground eg. fitting intake, exhaust manifold's etc., as this makes it soooo much easier to get it going & also saves you some stuffing around & struggling under the car.

You don't have to lie under the car trying to line up bolt's for the intake & then try & stuff around trying to fit all the extractor bolt's.

    That's just my two cent's

    Just one thought though.

I'd be cautious about posting up pick's of you smashing in the chassis rail.

This is a RWC item & is illegal to do such modification's to a structual part of the vehicle.

It may not be much, but it's just alittle head's up.
