I notice that nice shiny sump has no ripple strip marks on it yet.. You need to lower your car.

This sump hasn't seen the track yet. I paint them red so that the marshals know which way up to put the car.

Motor's coming out tomorrow. I'm taking a day off to catch up on the car work . Plenty of pics to follow.

Probably won't get the new one entirely back in tomorrrow there's a few things need doing while the engine bay is clear.

Saturday I'll be loading the trailer up for the swap meet.

That's the plan. Might pop out to pick up some gasket paper and hose but otherwise will be busy trying not to drop a motor on my head.

Got the motor out by 12:00. Finally figured out the timing issue, some moron had bolted the flywheel to the pressure plate the wrong way! Even clamped it down on one of the dowels so it's actually buckled the pressure plate.

Anyone want a GX Block?

Here's a few pics of the close ratio box getting ready for a new clutch.

Here I've replaced the throwout bearing, shaft bearing and oil seal.

Here's the block off plate I made up to seal odff the 2.0 Breather box.

The mounting plate for the warm up reg will bolt right on top.







There's a few more fiddly bits to sort out yet, but with luck I'll pop the new motor in next weekend.
