Looking good, Pete. Should have some serious grip now! Do the Koni's have bump and rebound adjustment?

Just rebound adjustment on these ones.

I've accumulated a few of these over the years and finally bit the bullet and had a set reconditioned.

Cool as. You would be able to get a lot out of rebound adjustment alone i'd reckon.. And i guess it's probably not a bad thing.. Less things to change, less things to screw up and bugger the setup (believe me, i've done it in Karts many times!) i guess.

What? Leaky AC Delcos? They're great! Nice and soft for jumping off the ripple strips

    Hi Peter,

really great job. I'm just impressed seeing the result of your work. I've found this forum and your thread yesterday and I was thinking of my own work I did more than 20 years ago on my GTI Mk1. Unfortunately my GTI hat a collision with a powerboat 3 years after restoration. My car was beeing scrapped after this and I miss it every day.
No car after it was able to give me such fun as the GTI did.

Go on with it and be careful. This cars are getting more and more seldom also in Germany.

    Have a nice day.

    Thanks Tobi,

I have 4 MK1 Golfs, a 1980 Passat, a 1559 Beetle as well as a Bora. I'm not about to run out of VWs any time soon

How on earth did you collide with a powerboat?

    Hi Pete,

the powerboat collided with my GTI. I had my car parked in front of my parents house when I heard a loud crashing noise. A Mercedes with a boat trailer crashed into my car and this was the end of my GTI-dream.....
Body deformed, engine cracked, exhaust was lying somewhere on the road.
Build up hardly in months it was completely wrecked in a part of a second.
Although it was more than 20 years ago I'm already feeling sad when I'm thinking of it.

Nevertheless I have fun seeing your pics here.
