Try an ABA on throttles Pete
That would be awesome and they would almost get forced induction from the airflow

    It's done! I collect tonight!

    All problems sorted apparently.

I'll post up the reports, probably tomorrow.

(Tonight I'm off to see a man about a Passat!)

    Hahahaha!

The verdict is in - a massive 68kW at the front wheels!

Numbers don't neccessarily tell the story though - it goes like stink!

    Very happy with the work.

It will now break the clutch loose if you nail it in third @4000 and it's a brand new 16v 210mm disc and pressure plate. Might have to upgrade.

    Work performed.

Secure vehicle on chassis dyno as required. Dyno Tune, scope and gas analysis (under load). Connect fuel system fuel pressure gauge duuring dyno testing. Run vehicle/engine at various speeds and throttle loads. Recalibrate carburettor progression, cruise, power and main circuit fuel mixtures. Adjust camshaft position 2° advanced and 2° retarded = 0° is best position. (edit - Guess I can use that adjustable pulley on something else now!) Plot and regraph distributor advance curve to suit engine operating specifics. Power time distributor. Carry out power graph as required. Check and readjust idle mixture.
Main jets are now back at 145.

A couple of quick test runs and the 5000rpm ceiling has gone, it keeps on pulling well up to 7000 now. More driving required to re-learn how to drive it best.

Here's the plot, click thumbnail for the high res version.

I'll be interested in the keyboard analysis.

I'll be upfront and admit it makes less than either an APR or GIAC chipped MK5 to get that argument right off the table straight away .

    It's a blast to drive.

Nice Pete, I bet she goes rather well now! From the graph it looks to be running out of legs a little, but that's ok.. Its got huge midrange! Glad to see it all got sorted.

Massive torque doesn't equate to massive acceleration..
