This. Is. Awesome!!!!
Love it man, I bet it was super fun before, imagine when you're done!?!
My all time favourite type of MK2 - a 2 door running a real turbo diesel motor. 300hp with 60 mpg, doesn't get much better than that.
Love your work.
Have you allowed enough flex in your pipes to allow for engine movement and vibration? From this picture it looks like you'll be wearing out something soon.
Cheers
Paul

Don't get any ideas George. MK1 GTI's don't run on diesel.

What a cool project - keep it up. A modern diesel in a classic VW body!! You are certainly a handy chap on the tools and DIY too.
Also saw you have a Golf R. What plans have you got for that?
I made the Side exit exhaust which takes a few minutes to swap between one exhaust and the other. using a V band clamp.
also heat wrapped the lower section of the down pipe, to protect the CV Joint. and surrounding tunnel area.
Need to make some additional heat shielding to protect the Brake Hard lines from Turbo heat-soak.
Going to do some Data logging today... to get the tuning underway.
