    ZOMG!!! $5K FOR A CRATE MOTOR.... I COULD HAVE HAD A MK1 R32!!! and thats no word of a lie!!! i thought they were over 6-7g's

    Yeah paying a bit more than 5k! getting engine,gearbox,loom with all assories with ecu,gauges to key start.....under 10k

    Just a thought - but have you considered parting your own R32 (sacrilegious as that may sound)?

    I'm sure there would be plenty of takers for the parts you didn't need given that many of them are bolt-on for other VAG cars, and you'll be assured that the engine, transmission, wiring loom etc are all in good condition and that you've got all the parts you would ever need.

    Failing that - wasn't there a written-off R32 in a Pickles auction recently? That might still be floating around the country somewhere.

    Failing that still, if you're not afraid of a bit more work and don't mind looking at a VAG 'cousin', there is a written-off Porsche 997 GT3 coming up for auction tomorrow at Pickles. That 3.6L flat 6 would be perfect...
