    tassie golf

    hi everyone this is my little project a mk1 1980 5 dr previously known as #canary# by its last owners (because of its yellow colour)...well ive got plans to take it to the lab and from my extensive research in dna, cell steming and cloning i plan to alter the make up of the canary and transform it into a ring neck parrot..... (maybe its in honour of my decesed ring neck parrot wich was also yellow funny enough, for those in the know i guess ring necks arnt as lucky as laurakeets)...so where was i yeaa! another golf out there to ring the necks of al them nissans and hondas getting around out there hehe pretty much any excuse to put a white coat on and get it all greasy will do.

    ok i just had a week off to try and finish the car...aghhh dreaming. well i almost got close. it was the best. i have to thank Golf wise for his tech support he is so great to have down south. the little yellow golf was running up a fever in the best week of wheather ever in tassie last week...so stoked. i just wanted to get the engine in so bad i nearly comprimised on the finish of the engine bay paint work but held off to finish the strips that go down behind the engine, and i am so glad i did. i dont have alot of specs for you yet but i will do my best to give a complete list. thats right it is a 9A thanks to robinson motor sport...
    the paint came from well i dont care who does? it was a bare metal respray that i achieved with a light duty sand blaster it worked so well taking off the paint in all them hard to get places that are even harder to get paint back into lol. every time i told someone that i was using a sand blaster they were like "wow! take it easy " so i did..... yep ahh..a few beers inbetween filling up the sand tank again and deffinetly between coats of paint last week.
    p.s. i dont recomend mixing a few cold ones with paint fumes...it takes a while to get racing stripes looking like stripes! doh!
    p.p.s. i rarely drink and drinking started after twelve o clock so im not an alchoholic.... but i cant wait till we can all go for a drive tassie boys and stop somewhere for a drink ha ha

    sorry picture small i will work the photo thing out soon. any help anyone i couldnt get the photos of my photobucket account to load there to big even tho its the same one as i loaded last?

    Compressing pics

    If the pics aren't in jpg format, save them as such. (jpg compresses them.) bmp is huge.

    If you are using a digital camera then change the resolution to 640 . This saves the pic as a smaller file.

    Use a graphics programme (if you have one: eg "Photoshop" or "Paintshop Pro") and in the file menu go to Export. There'll be a jpg optimiser that will allow you to compress the pics to any degree you want to.

    If you don't have a graphics programme go to Google and search for "The Gimp" It's free and simple to use.

    Photobucket actually has an inbuilt size reducing function, so if you don't feel like downloading all these other programs, just hit edit on the pics and resize.

    well here i am finaly ready to tick it over but ive had trouble getting spark.
    here is some pictures of the wires. its been wire for wire not to complicated except this brown wire from the computer which used to have a lug with a 12 mm hole or so on the end of it i dont know if it was ment to be a positive or a negative. I have extended the wires from the computer to the engine by about an extra 1.5 m in an effort to keep the engine bay tidy taking a longer path around the engine i was wondering if the longer run might affect the voltage drop enough to be a problem?
