    R32 brake conversion on Bora V6 4Motion

    Hi all,

I've got the R32 calipers and rotors. Do I also need the R32 carriers?

    Cheers!

Personally i wouldn't bother with the R32 set far too heavy,if you are going for serious power and need brakes to match then go for a leon cupra R set up or some nice porsche stoppers.

I already have the calipers and rotors - will need to check if the carriers are attached. The comment on weight is absolutely right -they're hideously heavy. Not only that, they're hideously expensive too - $580 each from VW in Australia at trade prices...

On the carries, for a change VW in Australia may be comparably priced to overseas - ECS want USD$213 each for them.

Good news - I appear to already have the carriers (I thought they were a separate item to what I have, but they're actually part of the assembly I've been referring to as the caliper.

Further to this - apparently I need the longer R32 brake lines - rather than going for OEM rubber ones, I'm looking for ADR-certified braided lines. Are there any local manufacturers I should look at?

The thing being with the R32 carriers is that they "correct" your front arm geometry for a lowered car as the spindle height is different, my Jetta 4 motion had lowered springs and the front arms were at quite a big upward angle really affecting the handling.
I installed R32 struts, uprights, driveshafts and arms to "correct" everything, amazing difference!
