Thanks Jarred, there is another side to a lot of the things that go on mate.
A lot of us aren't out to fleece people but are always trying to cover our own butts.
same goes with dodgy repairs, some people set a maximun price on repairs due to their budgets and so some repairs cannot be carried out.
We get the blame then if things go wrong...
I am sure Josh will get his golf up to the mark with the rego thing though.
If the indicators are far too fast then that is an issue too, more than likely needs a flasher unit or incorrect globes.
    Cheers!

There's just no pleasing some people is there.

Don't worry you aren't alone, my old man has to deal with the same sort of people sometimes.

You did mention the other week how far off the ground the sump was mate and I am not sure anyone here would pass a vehicle so low.
Please dont read my comments wrong.
down here if you fail, after 30 days the failure notice has to be sent into transport. If someone goes elsewhere and passes, the questions are asked and the vehicles are called in to be checked over by the transport inspectors.
Thank goodness we dont have annual checks!!!
Good luck with it Josh and please dont take offence, I am just stating how it is down here.
    Cheers, Andrew
I havent taken offence mate dont worry, sorry if my reply seemed curt

yeh the things that are confusing me about the RW that i obtained are that it just seems he was out to fail me.... he pinged me for rust that wasnt even there, just as an example!

i put chrome bumpers back on her, new light globes at the rear, front left indicator isnt working atm, will check it out as soon as Jarred gets over here. Got rid of the emissions stickers from under the bonnet and gave the car a good wash outside, inside and in the engine bay.

ill jack up the coilovers some more aswell at the front. I wont touch the exhaust as i really dont think its that loud

ill be booking a RWC for next week sometime. Problably next frriday or something depending on when they are open and when i have time!

    Hey Josh,
You should come over and grab that cambelt cover this weekend.

I'll be out of action for a week or so because some lunatic thinks it's a good idea to cut some holes in my knee, insert a small camera, and jab around in there with a sharp stick.

I don't think any rwc place will let you get away with having the cambelt cover missing.

    UPDATE!

She's regoed now as some of you may know

butttt after 4 blissful days of driving i blew up the engine. Dam. It was always a lemon of an engine however and an unknown quantity, no matter how much i'd tune it, it'd always ping, toward the end it was using oil and stinking pretty badly.

So i got stuck into it yesterday and ripped it apart ready for a new engine, this time a guarenteed 1.8 with 10:1, flat tops, and a GTI spec cam.

    pics to come

    Wanna cheap 1800 short block?

The flat top pistons will fix the low comp issues I had with it.
