i'm thinking you should, parts will be a nightmare but with those looks and say a UR quattro 5cyl turbo bolted in and 800hp it could be the ultimate pimp ride

Haha. I'm looking at how hard it'll be parts-wise. They're out there, but you have to look very far and wide.

An engine convo would be brilliant, but i dont think i can go thru that again. Maybe just chuck something common in there like a B5 Passat/A4 1.8T... or an A6 V8

Only if i cant rebuild the stock donk though.

Well i think my decision is made.
The Golf is at the point now where the more i remove, the more problems i discover. I'd basically have to cut 40% of the original body away!!! Might as well use another/better chassis. I cut out some of the a-pillar lower section and down where it joins the inner guard just to see the extent of the rust, and it just crumbled off Its a real bastard of a spot to repair there, and with this Audi super90 dangling in front of me I've realised i dont have the will to do it now.

    So, another mk1 project failure!!!

Sorry to disappoint you guys. Hopefully i can make it up with this Audi. If that fails, its Go Kart time!!!

    RIP

Here's a few gratuitous parting shots as the sun set on another mk1.

I will have a huge crate full of mk1 parts going up for sale soon. Im getting rid of it ALL!
