    sIIIIIIIIIIIck!!
Anyway yea Byron i'm pretty pumped to see it take shape. I think this will be my last serious resto as its a long, slow, frustrating and expensive road.

I made a little job list with the help of Guru Grant:

    1. Light blasting/wire wheel at home to expose the bad bits clearer
    2. Cut out rot
    3. Weld in replacement bodywork
    4. Take down to Diamond Blast and blast the whole body & panels
    5. Bring home, blow/suck out blast media, apply phosphate to metal
    6. Apply Dinitrol rust converter in tricky box sections
    7. 2pak epoxy primer
    8. Cover up, and save $$$$ for final painting!

    In the meantime:

Rebuild EV/SD engine and k-jet bits.

    Hmmm, jeez thats looking scary!!

GOLFBALLS, man thats a an epic build you've started there. If I had the time and space I'd love to tackle something like what your doing. Watching with great interest.

More lotto tickets required Wade, this is going to be expensive. On a brighter note Bryan may look at doing the paint for you.
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,

Yea. Not sure on how much the phosphate and epoxy is, but diamond blast quoted $1700 for blasting the body & panels, plus $300 for epoxy primer.

Final paint would be around the $5 - $6k mark...

Interior retrim will run into the $2000 mark and a dash rebuild was quoted at $600 from the dash doctor in Melbourne.

I still have to buy all the parts too!!!

    RUST RUST RUST
This is going to be fun.

So all in all, lots of severe pitting and holes. I'm amazed at how thin the original steel was in places.

There's going to be a lot of money going towards grinder/dremel discs for this!!!
