The old piece and the replacement,
The holes in the new piece are from the spot weld drilling.

    Done

One more bit of surgery under window seal.
All these bits of rust were behind lights or under seals but being a GTI i thought they deserve to be treated to properly.

I had no idea how much work this was realy going to take to do a proper job so far 220h
Since Jan but I think the results are worth it.
The booth was made of plastic and i kept the floor wet the whole time, The booth was made with a low roof so that air circulate thru gap at top of garage door over the top of the booth down thru filtered vents. It traveled thru inside of booth then thru fans and ducted out of bottom of roller door.
The system was working realy well within 1 minute of stopping the room would be Totaly ducted of all overspray fumes ect...
Painting ment keeping a focus like my life depended on it ha,

So finaly the booth could come down for this...

Fantastic job!!! Nothing is more satisfying than getting a car in paint (apart from finishing the whole thing!). Well done on going for black as well - very hard to spray well and shows up everything! Looks to have come up beautifully, though
