I scraped all the tar sound deadening off the lower firewall/footwell today. FYI, best way is with a good scraper and a heat gun to soften the tar/glue.
Just when you think you're going to get away with finding no rust... You do the drivers side...
Not to worry. I'll get into that with a little scouring wheel on the die grinder (a real man's "dremel") and clean it all up, then hit it with some POR 15.
While we're on that subject, where's the cheapest place to get POR 15?![]()

Nice work dude.
I think KBS Coatings has a product that is pretty close to identical to POR15, and a heap cheaper. (Doesn't claim to be scratch or crack proof though, only resistant)
Auto one should be able to hook you up.

One litre for $75 vs POR 15 which can run up to $130 a litre........
nice work preeny, I'm glad you're finally getting stuck in!
So it'll be ready by nats??![]()

Are you sorting out the booster? Good time to move it to the correct side of the car.
Thats not rust. Go to Engerland, thats a country that knows about rust.
Good to see some progress.
