    Well i was half way through. Then these popped up on ebay cheap as hell. So i scored one. Plus they are all aluminium, and therefore much, much lighter.

    Got my crank and rods back today. The crank has been ground, gallery plugs pulled, galleries flushed. Apparently the crank was absolutely full of crap, which really doesn't surprise me considering the internal condition of the rest of the engine...

    The rods have also been balanced to "within bugger all" (or 0.1gm).

    Next up is the block. But maybe after christmas. I need to save money for presents etc and Rego for the caddy in January (real bastard of a time to have rego come up..).

    That is very true. Although i was never going to run the engine without pulling it down, so it really doesn't matter..
