Ok, i was feeling unloved so i figured i'd better get a pic up.
Because my Mk1 is a 77 model, and originally had chrome bumpers, It has not support clips for the plastic wrap around bumpers.
So, I got some S/H clips from someone off the forum (Can't remember who now, but they were CHEAP!) and i have been thinking about how to affix them to the body.
Well, problem solvered, hopefully. Because the clips are supposed to fit through a little hole in the guard on the later models, and mine doesn't have the holes, and there is NO way i'm cutting a hole in my guards, i decided to modify the clips so i can attach them to the guard with Sicaflex or something similar.
Basically what i've done is cut the tabs off the back of the clip where they would normally go through the guard, and file the back flat.
What I am going to do is slip the clip into the bumper, apply the sicaflex and push it onto the guard in the right spot, then hold it in that position until it sets. That way i can get them exactly where i want them. And no, i'm not going to actually hold onto the bumper end, i'll hold it there with something. Probably 200mph tape or something.
Oh, and here's a pic i took when i lightened my flywheel. That's about how much material I removed.

Post up some pics of your flywheel and ill drop by your workshop and give you some love brother. Did you just part off the casting behind the ring gear or turn it down? Its gota be dynamically balanced!
Why not just drop by and have a look? I did it ages ago. Yeah i just machined off the casting behind the ring gear. I figure if i need to take more off that's easy, but if i take too much off i can't exactly weld it back on..
I know it's all gotta be balanced. When i get my clutch etc and i've got the money i'm taking everything down to Graeme Silk in Canberra and he is going to bore and hone my block, get my crank ground and linished and get everything balanced in one go.
