    M M's BMW E28

So I am making this thread after being encouraged by a few members to show the progress of my e28. Here goes.

This is how it looked like the day after I bought it:

525E, Auto, 17" BBS ASA wheels, a broken right rear top mount meaning that the shock was loose at the top and some other bits. Registration was on hold an WOF had expired in 2011, so it had been off the road for a while. The good thing about it was that it started first pop. The owner was very honest about it, he was a good guy that cared for the car a lot.

It came with all the original owner's books as well as all 4 factory keys.

Interior was in pretty good shape, no rips in the seats and only a few very small cracks on the dashboard. It was quite dirty though, has all kinds of stuff under the seats but I cleaned that all up.

I did some things to tidy it up like polish the wheel lips, replaced the rear top mounts, new front brake discs and pads, fixed some rust on the drivers floor (big thanks to my friend Anton who did most of the work there!) and got a WOF and registration, making it legal to drive. Also painted the front valance and manage to fit my small mk2 front lip on it. And of course I lowered it.

When I went to change the oil, the filter refused to come off. So I have a 3 hour battle with it and when I finally got it off it looked like this:

I know since I bought the car that these wheels were not what I was going to keep, they just didn't suit the car and were too big in my opinion. I like the look of smaller wheels and fatter tyres. I ended up finding some 16" BBS Style 5's on trade me and Anton just happened to be selling the exact tyres I was going to buy for a great price so that all went very well for me. So I polished the lips, painted the centers and ordered new badges for the center caps.

Also did some other bits like paint the lower dash panels and door cards black, install a good stereo and an alarm.
Sorry for the super long post but this was catching up on about 3 months of work.

Plans now are after I have finished my mk2 motor swap I want to swap it to manual as I can't take the automatic anymore, then I'll start putting together an engine, most likely a 3.5. I'd also like to paint it black eventually and redo the interior, preferably with burgundy leather seats and black carpets etc. There will be some other bits and pieces along the way. It will be a long term project though that will progress as money allows. Hope you all enjoy

Thanks I kept that oil filter, still laugh about it to this day.

Oh yes, forgot to post a photo of the wheels with the new badges (which are genuine by the way )

Thanks man! I think I prefer them without the caps as well to be honest, may end up taking them off.
The gold mk2 is my mom's.

Been a while since I've been on here. Changed a few things on the E28, but still has the same engine/gearbox. Still going strong as ever, even seems to have got a bit better on fuel recently which is nice. Hope that lasts. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
