Ok I have a 1977 gls golf a polo 6n 1.4 16v dash and a wiring loom ,engine and gearbox from a 1996 audi a3 does anyone know if theselooms will plug in together or should I scrap the das and put the stock mk1 dash in ?

Removing the Polo dash from the equation will simplify matters by 1000%.
You're working with parts from 3 different donor cars, from 3 different eras of automotive technology, including the recipient of all these bits. Nothing will plug in, or be compatible.
