Nice car mate. Just wondering how you secured your racing seats in?

sorry Russ been away for a while.
the seats are bolted to a modded mk1 seat base. They seemed to sit a little high untill I got used to it. the cobra seats I have have the bolt holes in the bottom.
so 2 braces were welded on the mk1 platforms and lined up the bolt holes.
So, I decided to come back for the silly season and spend some time with my car...um, Parents :P.....
It's now back on the 17in rims until I get new tyres for the Compomotives.
Thought I wouls share what I have been doing today if anyone might be interested in getting some extra room in their engine bay.
I have been running an RNN14 GTiR Pulsar Thermo fan for quite a long time on the GTI, but decided I would mount it in front of the Radiator to tidy the engine bay up a bit.
First of all, rip it's face off.

RNN14 Fan should be the same as a normal N14 Pulsar fan, But i'm not sure.
This one came off my old GTi-R Pulsar. Spins very fast and is quite slim compared to the old MK2 Dog Kennel that was on it.

Remove slam panel and Aux bits and pieces.

Now, to be honest, I don't recall if I made these brackets, if they were Pulsar ones, or VW ones.....sorry, I mounted it ages ago. (on the rear side)

Yes, it's dirty in there, I'm getting there slowly :P

Does involve some very slight notching or slight bending of the front slam upright, about 10mm to clear the Thermo Brace.

Remount the horn a little lower behind the bumper.

And, Pretty much back together.. Front lip etc to go back on when I finish cleaning up.

******** Remember you have to check the polarity of the fan!!
If its on the engine side it will draw air through, swap polarity to make it push air through the radiator.
Best way to check what way it is going is to hold a sheet of paper over the radiator and see if its blowing the air through and not sucking the paper to the radiator.
Cheers,
Other bits n things to come.
Awesome stuff. Great to see you back and working on the MK2 buddy!
