I checked the plugs after about 8,000k's. Pretty black but they spent most of their time in a poorly tuned engine.

And i was saying how the engine was sounding unhealthy... well, at the driver training day i did find this on the ground, and i kept it just in case it was mine.

Well boys n girls, it turns out that it is one of the THREE harmonic balancer bolts that had FALLEN OUT! There are four! So i had one left doing its best to keep the pully still and on the engine. There was probably 5mm of movement in the pulley as it rotated, but that was enough to cause a bloody awful racket!

Anyhoo, got some new bolts on, and noise is gone!

Good news that its was something as simpel as those bolts.

Im sure some lock tight and a breaker bar was used this time!

Had my first Superkhana event today and wet conditions in the morning.

Huge field of about 45 cars and a nice mix of machinery old and new. A dude there in a sweet mk1 Gemini coupe (Opel Kadett) that he'd turbo'd took some vids.

I'm on at around the 1minute mark, then another run at 6:00. That was probably my tidiest of the 4 'laps'. I was punching against some serious race prepped cars with proper tyres and still managing to give them plenty to think about on the time sheets.

The really quick cars were doing mid 45 second runs (about 5 out the 43 entrants). My best time was a 49.4.

Results will be online tomorrow.

Can't wait for the next one!
