    Brief update.

    Got the shifter in. The cable shifts base is narrower and longer than the original, so I drilled some holes, used those threaded rivet things for the two rear bolt holes, and I could get a spanner in the top for the fronts so just used a locking nut on the top. Also used the existing bolt holes too as the bolt shoulder covers the edge for extra support.


    Here's a few shots test fitting the QPeng downpipe. Sexy

    Looking great Wade, shame your over in Perth, i have a spare 3" stainless mandrel bent system, with straight through mufflers for a mk2. I made a new one for mine cos i could..

    Mmm sounds nice. This system is 2.5" anyway.

    i used to work at audioart & technologies, we did aftersales sh%t for audi, back when kylie was the aftersales chick there, damn i got to drive some nice cars yours is coming along very nicely, cant wait to see it done, 270hp will be quite a handfull haha

    Aha I remember you guys! Yea, driving all those Audi's was a massive perk! Especially taking the R8's, S5's, S8's & S3's down the road for fuel, and the occasional Porsche or BMW trade in!

    The best one was dropping a brand new blue RS4 sedan (my fav Audi) to the owner's house in Mt Lawley... *sigh*

    On the mk2 front, it's been a few days since I've been at the shop, but today I put a Redi-Sleeve over the corroded surface on that drive shaft flange. Cost me about $30 and is far better than $300+ for a new shaft from VW (via Germany).

    Also started separating the old Mk2 engine wiring loom out from the few wires that i need to retain for the new harness. Jeez such a painful job. I'm gonna get some help coz I am really out of my depth there.

    There's also a bunch of piping/hoses that I don't know if i need to retain from the S3 system for the conversion. Some are for the fuel evap/purge system, some from the activated charcoal canister and all associated vacuum pipes & chambers. All very confusing when there's a heap of half smashed pipes & hoses hanging off the engine with no part numbers or anything. The qpeng guide says to get rid of the purge system, but there are parts of it that look important!
    There's also some random switches and sensors that seem to go nowhere.

    Another problem I noticed is qpeng sent back my harness with a plug for a 4 pin lambda probe when my AMK engine uses the 6 pin. I should be able to swap out the probe to a 4 pin without any issues though. There is also no plug for the MAF sensor.

    Ok so here's the redi-sleeve on the drive flange.




    Went and saw Gareth on the weekend and he let me check out the engine in his S3. Seems most of the stuff can go in the bin except for a few pipes that are integrated into the intake trunking and dump valve etc. All this turbo stuff is new for me so I'm open to advice/info here if anyone wants to chime in???

    I also am missing the aux water pump that feeds cooling water to the turbo. Anyone got any advice here on a substitute setup for the conversion or maybe some kind of bypass/direct feed??
