true true sorry i stand corrected you are right but they are completly swappable, you just need to change the intake manfold if i remember rightly? Anyway it does not matter, the mk2 engine mount still fits, whether it rectifies your issue is another thing.

what cooling you going to run with mate? Can i highly recommend an oil cooler it works wonders on mine.

Oh what pump set up you running too? mk3 tank with 040? or you got a k jet set up on that car?

the audi a3s and tts are all based on golf mk4 and golf mk5 architecture so all of the engines are physically interchangable. the only thing with the audi longitudinal blocks is that they have provisions for golf mk1 side mounts.

where does the oil drain lead actually lead to? like the side of the block?

another useful bit, the mk3 and mk2 fuel tanks are exactly the same. ie gets rid of all the k-jet accumlator and pump bypassing/regulating.

what size downpipe are you thinking?

best of luck with this. looks to be absolutely rapid. but yeah, with aydan, a 20v k04 isn't going to putting out low hp. maybe work out a long term solution with that rear mount

    S3/TT are transverse.

Then again you can fit a TT/S3 block into a longitudinal car (ie B5/B6 A4). Odd isn't it?
    mmm this shell is lovely

    Yep.

The drain goes to the sump guys. The downpipe is 2.5" all the way home...

The car was/is Digi but i'll be swapping to the mk3 fuel tank and running a VR6 pump.

With the Passat/A4 longditudinal engines, you have to change a bit more than just the manifolds. The whole bracket for the a/c, alternator, p/s pump, the pulleys, and with the APU engine for example you'll also need to source oil filter brackets from mk3 2 litre, and other things like the water outlets and engine gearbox brackets too! I think its the same as a diesel block IIRC???

My long term plan for the rear eng bracket is to replace it if it breaks...

No there not, the mk3 has a baffle in the tank so they only run in tanks,
digifant mk2's dont have a baffle and therefore lean out on corners, so they have the "surge tank" underneath mk3's do not
