i'm sure there is an obvious reason, but out of curiosity what is the purpose of a heated windscreen in a track car? ... just wondering. i sure could use one when i'm driving around at night though ahah

the berg kit is looking insane, nice work with the thread insertions...took me a couple of attempts to use the gun properly to get the threads to stay nicely lol

    To defog the screen.

No heaters. (No dashboard either for that matter.)

A foggy windscreen at 200km/hr isn't a lot of fun.

Seagulls are worse. It's happened a few times down at the Island - Marty Craggill broke a collarbone once when he was hit (didn't come off the bike, though).

Yep, seems to rain a lot when I'm racing.

I've been out on the island in gale force winds and driving rain, visibility less than 50m.

Race cars aren't particularly weatherproof either.

Window nets and no door seals on a lot of cars, combined with a really hot interior 'cos you've taken all the sound deadening and heat shields out means things can get a bit steamy.

My car actually carries a lot of corner speed in the wet. Rain is a real equaliser for small front wheel drive cars. The V8s have trouble staying on the black stuff.

Had a bunch of stuff sandblasted a couple of weeks back so I had the rear beam cleaned up too.

I added brackets for disc brake hoses and for the rear toe stabilisers.

The place just across the road from the sandblasters does powdercoating,, in fact they specialise in red, baking a batch of signal red every night.

We got the beam for the Passat done at the same time as the golf one.

I got a bunch of other brackets and stuff powder coated in black. Here's the freshly blasted, coated and re bushed pivot mounts.

Made up some new brake lines for the beam, I'll tweak the bends a bit more once everything is bolted up.

Bolted up the toe stabilisers to check fit.
