Looks good Pete. Will have to pop round soon to check it out.
I also have a few spare 3 doors bits if you need, and plenty of spare time to help out too

The bonnet's already claimed - As part of the deal for the car I have to replace some of the parts that the previous owner wanted to donate to his project.
It's all good though, I have found 2 MK 1s nearby with the parts I need.

Sorry. Not all 76's got the swallow tail bonnet.
They were all mixed matched.
You could have a normal 76 with all the other swallow tail part's except the bonnet or bever panel.
Or you could have a normal 76 with none of the swallow tail part's on it.
I think the only common part on all the 76er's were the chrome door handles!
VW Oz just put together the car's with what ever part's VW sent them, which were both left over panel's & the next year's panels

I dont think I ever saw an Aussie 76er with the raised section along the front of the bonnet as on the 77on imported models. The problem with them was owners pushing the bonnets closed rather than just dropping them. Without the rodged section they suffered from dents and bends.
I was an apprentice when the first golfs were released in Australia and bought my first one in 1977.
Showing my age eh !!!!!!!!!

Looks like Bill's old motor?
Looks like I spoke too soon about the rust, but then it wouldn't be a 76 without rust would it?
Passenger floor is pretty bad, I vacuumed a couple of holes into it
I'll weld in a new floor section I think. I'll need a mig welder for the seam welding anyway....
