Next big job, tackling the rear guards.

To run wide tyres you have to trim the arches right?

Quite a bit of work in it, you have to leave some of the original flared outer skin to re shape down to the inner panel.

Just all tacked up at the moment, next job is to finish the welding, tap it out and grind it down.

Once that's done It'll need just a little more bumping to flatten it all out.

Then I suppose I can mount the Berg Cup flares up.

Nice work, Pete. Big balls needed to tackle bodywork like that i reckon. It's alien to me..

I probably just missed it Peter, but what wheels are you planning on that will make good use of those Berg Cup flares?

Hopefully something from the BBS motorsport catalogue?

I'm yet to figure out wheels. I need to set up the suspension first and do some calculations.

The front suspension will use MK2 hubs so there's a bit of geometry to figure out.

Depending on how it sits under the guards I might wide track it yet.

    Wheels will be 8" x 15". It's just the offset that's unknown.

I might start with what ever track width results from the parts at hand and band up some 15" steelies with mega offset and just see how it goes.

It's easy enough to make the rear track match the front offset.

Ultimate offset will be based on suspension geometry. Suspension geometry will be based on whatever happens when I bolt it all together.

Gonna be a lot of measuring no matter what happens.

I've got G60 15" steelies to band up, if I'm happy with the suspension I might go the Compomotive M05.

Sometimes you just get lucky on eBay.

Picked this Race Technology DL1 logger and Dash2 up for well less than 1/2 of retail.

Don't really need it yet but it was too good a buy to pass up.

Just building a test rig to learn how to set it all up.

If I get time I'll give it a run in the other car at Phillip Island in a couple of weeks.

This will save me setting up any other gauges, everything can be configured onto the display and all the sensor data logged.

Ordered in some Deutsch DTM connectors too, no point in messing about with dodgy connectors. Good thing I know a thing or two about wires.

There is something perversely exciting about terminating cable and making looms. Everyone always mentions how much they hate it but it super studying when the multimeter plays it's tune.

Oh and the dash looks sweet Pete , nice score.
