Are you allowed to weld the firewall to the rollcage where it passes through? Just curious.

I don't think so. I never really checked.

In any case I can't modify this cage now or it loses it's CAMS certification.

Short answer is no. Not exactly sure why, though.

Keep up the good work, Pete.

    Still pottering away.

Nearly all of the metal repair is done. I have a friend coming over on the weekend to help me straighten out the boot floor and re-skin a door.

I keep finding more brackets to remove and clean up.

Hopefully not too far away from some mock fit ups and undercoating properly.

Still awaiting transport from the UK for the fibreglass bits. Should be under way soon.

    Other parts are accumulating.

Work has been taking a lot of my time as I'm coordinating a big tender at the moment.

Re skinned the Drivers door today. The one on it needed the bottom 4 inches replaced due to rust.

Process is straight forward, cut the old one off, weld on the new one.

Got the rear floor straightened out and the strength back in it too. The seam welding can continue now.

I have a good friend who is a contract panel beater, he specialises in resto work. Dennis helps me out when I'm out of my depth.

The welding is all mine though.

Yea, I'm sure it was that easy!

Didn't realise the floor was damaged? or was that just because you removed the wheel well?
